Be Informed About Scholarships
Am I eligible to apply?
All scholarship funds have very specific criteria that applicants must meet. The donor or advisory committees defined the eligibility criteria when the fund was established. The general criteria that apply to most funds are that applicants must:
Ø plan to attend an accredited two or four-year college of university or an accredited vocational or technical institution;
Ø enroll as a full-time student (12 credit hours undergraduate);
Ø demonstrate academic achievement; and/or
Ø demonstrate economic need.
How much does it cost to apply for a scholarship?
There is no charge to apply.
Do I need to repay scholarship money?
No. Scholarships are charitable grants.
May I apply for more than one scholarship?
Yes. However, you must submit a separate application and attachments for each scholarship fund to which you apply. Students may make additional copies of the application form provided.
Will the scholarship awards cover the entire cost of my college education?
No/Yes. Most scholarship awards are intended to provide only partial support, some will cover entire cost. Scholarships offer varying award amounts, depending on the size of the fund, the number of qualified applicants and the criteria of the fund. Students should investigate additional sources of financial aid, such as those listed at the colleges of their choice.
If I receive a scholarship one year, will I automatically receive an award for the following year?
No. Some scholarships are one-year only, some are subject to student performance, the criteria varies by scholarship.
